Alfonso Zambrano is a shareholder at Brown & Fortunato with a general business practice emphasizing on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, business start-ups, real estate transactions and corporate governance. Alfonso has served as the principal legal advisor on numerous transactions in various industries to help clients achieve their goals and implement their business strategies.

Alfonso represents lenders and borrowers in complex financial transactions in negotiating and closing credit agreements. He also has experience in structuring, drafting, and negotiating real estate transactions and commercial investments, representing purchasers, sellers, developers, and landlords of residential and commercial real estate properties, and handling the financing of the transactions.

Alfonso serves as the lead advisor to buyers and sellers in numerous health law transactions involving the sales and acquisitions of durable medical equipment companies, pharmacies, medical groups, and other healthcare related entities. In that capacity, he assists clients in all aspects of these transactions including: helping clients secure financing; conducting legal, operational and financial due diligence; negotiating and drafting asset, stock or redemption agreements; drafting applicable ancillary agreements; and assisting with in-person or electronic closings and post-closing obligations. Alfonso’s broad range of experience and participation on the business side of transactions results in a practical, problem-solving approach to legal issues designed to achieve business objectives.

Alfonso has closed more than 200 transactions since 2013 in the healthcare sector. He has successfully represented clients in securing multi-million dollar credit facilities, private securities offerings of intellectual property companies and tech startups, and assisted family owned ventures in conversions and reorganizations in preparation for expansion.

Alfonso is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Amarillo Area Bar Association and the Amarillo Young Lawyers Association. He is also an active board member of the Amarillo Museum of Art, the Amarillo College Foundation, and the Harrington Regional Medical Center. He is currently serving as Vice President of the Amarillo Local Government Corporation. Alfonso was recently chosen for a 2019 Chamber of Commerce top 20 under 40 award.

Alfonso was born and raised in Hereford, TX. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Angelo State University in 2005 and graduated cum laude. Thereafter, Alfonso attended Texas Tech University and earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the Rawls College of Business. In 2007, Alfonso enrolled at the Texas Tech University School of Law where he participated in the Civil Practice Clinic, was an active member of the Board of Barristers, a contributing writer to the Texas Bank Lawyer, and a regular volunteer for Legal Aid of Northwest Texas. Alfonso received his J.D. and Business Law Certification in 2010.

Alfonso and his wife Britny have a dog, Ollie. He is an avid Texas Tech fan and enjoys playing sports, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
