Allison L. Davis is a member of Brown & Fortunato’s Labor and Employment law team, where she is a shareholder and director. She is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She practices primarily in employment litigation, employment counseling, and commercial litigation. Allison represents clients in a wide range of litigation and pre-litigation matters, including employment discrimination, non-competition disputes, wage and hour issues, and business disputes.
Allison frequently advises employers on exemption, classification, and pay issues and often drafts and advises employers on the enforceability of non-competition, severance, and confidentiality agreements. In addition, Allison routinely handles internal investigations as well as audits and investigations by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and Texas Workforce Commission. Allison also drafts employee handbook policies and procedures and advises employers on proper hiring, disciplinary, and termination practices.
Allison is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Amarillo Area Bar Association and the Amarillo Young Lawyers Association. She is admitted to practice in the Northern District of Texas, Eastern District of Texas, and Western District of Texas. Allison currently serves on the Board of Directors for Center City of Amarillo, an organization dedicated to the revitalization of downtown Amarillo, and the Panhandle Human Resources Association.
Allison was raised in Angleton, Texas and graduated from Angleton High School. She attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas, where she earned a B.A. in Communication Arts and a minor in French. Allison was named to the Dean’s List on several occasions and graduated summa cum laude.
In 2005, Allison enrolled at Texas Tech University School of Law, where she received the Regent’s Scholarship for academic achievement. While in law school, Allison participated in the Civil Law Clinic, helping pro bono clients in divorce and estate planning matters. Allison received her J.D. in May 2008, summa cum laude, and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.
Allison and her husband, Nate, have two sons, Graham and Weston. Allison enjoys cooking, gardening with her husband, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
