Brown & Fortunato is proud to announce that former Shareholder, Mary M. Bearden, was named Distinguished Alumna of the State Bar Health Law Section at the final meeting of the section in 2024.
This prestigious award recognized Mary for her more than 30 years as an elite health law practitioner, her dedication to mentoring young attorneys, and her extraordinary contributions to the health law community in the State of Texas and beyond.
Mary joined Brown & Fortunato on February 1, 2005, and prior to her retirement in 2023, she was a member of the national health law group of the firm where she was Board Certified in Health Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mary was recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for more than twenty years and selected as a Texas Super Lawyer from 2003-2011 and 2013-2021 for her practice in health law. She also achieved the Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating, the highest possible rating for an attorney for both ethical standards and legal ability.
The Texas State Bar’s Health Law Section supports health law practitioners in Texas and across the country. The section’s activities include publishing CLE papers and offering CLE sessions, providing updates on health law developments, and providing access to client alerts and newsletters for health lawyers.
