Mackenzie N. Wortley joined Brown & Fortunato as a member of the firm’s Health Care Group. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Amarillo Area Bar Association, and the Amarillo Area Young Lawyers Association.

Mackenzie grew up in Springfield, Illinois. In 2015, she graduated magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky with a major in Political Science and a minor in Sociology. While at the University of Kentucky, Mackenzie interned for Congressman Andy Barr. In addition, Mackenzie spent her summers working in a local hospital pharmacy.

In 2018, Mackenzie received her J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas. While in law school, she served as Articles Editor for the Science & Technology Law Review, was a member of the Health Law Association, and worked in-house at a Dallas-area hospital. Mackenzie also volunteered for the Clemency Project 2014, the Buried Alive Project, and the Judge Elmo B. Hunter Legal Center for Victims of Crimes Against Women. Mackenzie graduated cum laude and was inducted into SMU’s Pro Bono Honor Roll.

Mackenzie enjoys Kentucky basketball games, traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
